Long before Antuan Hawkins was a photographer, storyteller, or performing artist, he was a dreamer, always imagining and creating. So when he became a children's librarian, it just made sense.

 

Hawkins is a member of several professional organizations. His background in the arts as a classically-trainer singer, photographer, actor, and visual artist has allowed him to use his passion and formal training to inspire young minds. Hawkins is based in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he lives and works with a simple philosophy, "One of the greatest gift you can give is the gift of exposure."

 

As a storyteller, children's librarian, and promoter of literacy and learning, he daily shifts paradigms and changes our world by helping to expand minds and helping children to build dreams.  This is embodied through his dedication to exceed expectations, experience the world through the openness and eagerness of a child's mind, and empower others for the greater good of the community.
